To create awareness about Rain Water harvesting for the lack of water in terms of drinking, irrigation and other purposes rural areas or villagers always compromised with urban ones.

Water resource problems for free consumption in terms of quality and quantity are important obstacles for quality of life in rural or village areas. Rural water supplies have been dominated by urban ones. At present rural and village areas people’s faces not only water shortages but also water quality-related problems. The water shortage is rather caused by the lack of effective open participation to manage joined solutions from the raw water source and to distribute water throughout the individual households. These problems are lessened where the community in upper zone has been mindful about forest preservation.

Technology discussed: For the preparation of rainwater harvesting tanks (500-5000 liter capacity), we have modified the treatment technology and used three layer filtration technology; first is Gravel layer, second is Sand layer and third is Biochar or Charcoal layer. Finally the water is collected in the main storage tank where one RO filter is installed in every case. Before using the water for drinking, the water will tested as per the WHO standard including pH, hardness, metal content and TDS.
